DIY Cajun Seasoning

This has become my go-to seasoning mix.  Whenever in doubt, I smother whatever meat or veggies I'm cooking with this seasoning and it comes out delicious!  It is a fool-proof, anytime seasoning that will transform your meal from boring to bold with a simple shake.  I'm all about easy and healthy ways to pump up the flavor in my meals.  It really doesn't get easier than this.

When I first started mixing this seasoning, it was enough to make only one meal at a time.  Soon I started using it so much I began quadrupling my recipe  to save time.  This recipe fits perfectly in an empty spice shaker, making the perfect storage container.  After slapping a label on it so it doesn't get lost in my overflowing spice cabinet, I am always ready to grab and go with this fantastic seasoning.

Some of my favorite ways to use this spice mix is in ground beef for delicious Mexican dishes or smothered on grilled chicken thighs for a crispy and delightful charred flavor.  My favorite use of this mix has to be on seared salmon.  The bold flavors and kick of cayenne pair perfectly with the robust and slightly sweet fish.  Ahhhh, it's so good!  Now I'm craving cajun seared salmon :)

No matter what you're cooking, add some spice to your summer with this cajun seasoning.
